POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and procedures. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential function in an acceptable manner.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBIITIES & SKILLS

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resources and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and termination.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include employee policy training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verification.
  • Lead in the orientation processing for new hires such as E-Verify, composing employee files, benefits enrollment, and data entry for payroll processing.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and moral; and training and development.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance (e.g., EEO-1 reporting, AAP, mandatory postings).
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems; Paycom experience preferred, but not required.
  • Filing and record keeping capability for HR offices.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong software skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • 5 years of experience in an HR or Administrative role (or a combination of the two)
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR, highly desired.

PREFERRED

  • 5 years of experience in a HR related role
